AMC/GPAC/KCAC All-Conference
Braden Neumann (JR/Costa Mesa, Calif.) and Clark Steele (JR/Lake Forest, Calif.) were named to the AMC/GPAC/KCAC All-Conference first team as the conference announced its postseason honors Friday. Joining Neumann and Steele with all-conference honors were Caylor Cox (FR/Helena, Mont.) and Derek Correa (FR/Vega Baja, Puerto Rico), who were named to the second team. Austin Jacob (FR/Houston, Texas) earned honorable mention honors. Additionally, Neumann was selected as Newcomer of the Year. Jamestown finished their first season of play with an overall record of 11-2 and were 5-1 in conference matches. Correa led the nation in assists per set (11.34) while Jacob was fifth in hitting percentage (.432). Steele was sixth in kills per match (4.42) and 16th in hitting percentage (.379). Cox was 23rd in digs per set (2.52) while Neumann was 28th (2.36). KCAC Wrestler of the Week
WICHITA, Kan.-- Jamayia Blackston (SO/Lakewood, Wash.) of the University of Jamestown has been named Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Wrestler of the Week. Blackston, currently ranked fifth in the NAIA at 116 pounds for the second-ranked Jimmies, wrestled up a weight and took first place in the 123-pound bracket at the North Central College Invitational in Naperville, Ill., on Saturday. All three of her victories came against NCAA Division II competition and were by tech fall. Blackston did not allow any of her opponents to score a point against her. She was also named Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament. The Jimmies finished third among 17 teams in the meet.

WCWA All-American
MARIETTA, Ga.-- Seven University of Jamestown women's wrestlers earned WCWA All-American status Saturday as the WCWA Nationals concluded at the Cobb County Civic Center. Agatha Andrews (SO/Akiak, Alaska) placed second at 191 pounds, winning her first three bouts by pin. Andrews, ranked 5th in the WCWA, pinned top-ranked Nkechinyere Nwankwo of Oklahoma City in 4:57 to advance to the finals. There, second-ranked Alexandra Castillo of Campbellsville won an 8-1 decision over Andrews. Top-ranked Jacqueline Parks (FR/Taylor, Mich.) was third at 136 pounds, winning her first two bouts by pin in a combined time of 2:36 before falling in the semifinals to fourth-ranked Aliyah Yates of Big Bend. Parks came back with a tech fall victory and an 8-4 decision over second-ranked Destiny Lyng of Oklahoma City in the third-place match. Fourth-ranked Alyssa Schrull (SR/East Helena, Mont.) captured fifth place at 170, finishing 4-2. Her first three wins came via decision, tech fall, and pin, before winning the fifth-place match by medical forfeit. Samantha Weeks (FR/Tacoma, Wash.) (109), fifth-ranked Jamayia Blackston (SO/Lakewood, Wash.) (116), and second-ranked Myranda Velazquez (SR/Los Banos, CA) (155) all placed sixth. Desiree Estrada (SO/Hesperia, Calif.) (136) finished eighth.

KCAC Wrestler of the Week

Andrews was selected for her performance during February 3-9 by a vote of conference Sports Information Directors. Andrews took second place in the 191 pound weight class at the WCWA Nationals in Marietta, Ga., over the weekend. Ranked fifth in the WCWA, Andrews pinned her opponents in her first three bouts, including #4 Leilani Camargo-Naone of Midland (Neb.) and top-ranked Nkechinyere Nwankwo of Oklahoma City.

NAIA Volleyball All-American
LEXINGTON, Ky.-- The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced its women's volleyball All-American teams for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, as selected by the NAIA Volleyball All-American Selection Committee. Britta Knudson (SR/Bismarck, N.D.) was named second team All-American. She led the Jimmies with 345 kills, a .345 hitting percentage, and 184 blocks. Knudson's 184 blocks led the NAIA this season and are the second-most by a UJ player. Knudson was a first-team Great Plains Athletic Conference selection and earned a spot on the AVCA West Central Region first team. Isabel Wedell (SR/Ellendale, N.D.) was named honorable mention All-American. She was second on the team with 333 kills and posted a serving percentage of .954. Wedell was named to the GPAC first team and AVCA West Central Region first team. Jamestown finished the season with a 33-6 record, setting a new mark for wins in a season while advancing to the semifinals of the NAIA National Championship.

GPAC Defender of the Week
Sydney Ellingson (JR/Langdon, N.D.) of the University of Jamestown has been named Great Plains Athletic Conference/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday. Ellingson led the 13th-ranked Jimmie defense in a pair of road conference wins last weekend. She totaled 38 digs, an average of 5.57 per set, as the Jimmies beat Mount Marty (S.D.) in four sets and swept Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) Jamestown (12-2) hosts Briar Cliff (Iowa) Saturday at 5 p.m.

GPAC Defender of the Week
SIOUX CITY, Iowa-- The Great Plains Athletic Conference and Hauff Mid-America Sports announced that Sydney Ellingson (JR/Langdon, N.D.) has been named GPAC Defender of the Week for contests played October 21-27, 2019. Ellingson averaged 20 digs per match last week in helping the eighth-ranked Jimmies to a 2-1 record. She posted a career-high 35 digs in the Jimmies' five-set win over Doane. Ellingson also had 15 digs and was a perfect 12-for-12 from the service line in a loss to No. 2 Northwestern. She finished the week with 10 digs, an ace, and 16-of-17 serving as Jamestown swept Hastings. The Jimmies are on the road against Concordia (Neb.) on Thursday and Midland (Neb.) on Friday.

GPAC All-Conference
SIOUX CITY, Iowa-- The eighth-ranked University of Jamestown volleyball team had six players earn postseason accoloades as the Great Plains Athletic Conference released its all-conference teams Wednesday. Earning spots on the first team were Britta Knudson (SR/Bismarck, N.D.) and Isabel Wedell (SR/Ellendale, N.D.). Knudson currently leads the Jimmies with 287 kills, a .352 hitting percentage, and 156 total blocks. She is third in the NAIA in total blocks, while her blocks per set (1.26) and hitting percentage are 10th nationally. Knudson led the GPAC in hitting percentage and total blocks. Wedell is second on the Jimmies with 270 kills and is averaging 2.18 kills per set. She currently has a serving percentage of .947 and is second on the team with average of 2.55 points per set. Named to the second team were Sydney Ellingson (JR/Langdon, N.D.), Anna Holen (SO/LaMoure, N.D.), and Corina Ruud (JR/Breezy Point, Minn.). Ellingson led the Jimmies with 553 digs and is 17 digs away from cracking UJ's single-season Top 10 list. She is third on the team with 66 assists and has a reception percentage of .947 in 583 attempts. Holen showed her versatility on the court as she posted 161 kills, 32 service aces, 396 digs, and a team-high .975 reception percentage in 676 attempts. She also had 43 total blocks. Ruud is one of four Jimmies with 200+ kills this season, currently at 232. Her attack percentage is .309, and she leads the team with 30 solo blocks. Ruud's 115 total blocks are second-most on the team. Earning honorable mention honors was Jordan Thomas (SR/Pingree, N.D.). Thomas has recorded 205 kills so far, as well as a .941 reception percentage. She is one of five Jimmies averaging more than two points per set, currently at 2.32. Jamestown (29-4) won the GPAC postseason tournament and will begin play at the NAIA National Championship on December 3 in Sioux City.

GPAC Offensive Player of the Week
SIOUX CITY, Iowa-- Sydney Hollingsworth (SR/San Leandro, Calif.) has been named Great Plains Athletic Conference's Offensive Player of the Week for women's soccer, the conference office announced Tuesday. Hollingsworth scored a natural hat trick in helping the Jimmies to a 7-1 win over York (Neb.) College on Friday. Her three goals came in a span of six minutes and 20 seconds after UJ and York were tied 0-0 at the half. Jamestown hosts Rocky Mountain (Mont.) College at noon on Sunday.

GPAC Honorable Mention All-Conference
SIOUX CITY, Iowa-- The University of Jamestown women's soccer team had three players named to the Great Plains Athletic Conference all-conference second team, the conference office announced Monday. GPAC Honorable Mention All-Conference
SIOUX CITY, Iowa-- Hannah DeMars (FR/Grand Rapids, MN) and Kia Tower (FR/Bigfork, MN) from the University of Jamestown women's basketball team were named honorable mention GPAC All-Conference as the league office released its first, second, and honorable mentions Wednesday. DeMars led the Jimmies in scoring with 9.7 points per game and scored a team-high 272 points. Her best game came on January 29 against Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) when she poured in 26 points. DeMars also grabbed a team-best 150 rebounds, averaging 5.4 per game. Tower was second on the team with 7.5 points per game and 231 total points. She averaged 3.2 rebounds and was one of three Jimmies with 42 or more steals.

GPAC Second Team All-Conference
SIOUX CITY, Iowa-- Three University of Jamestown men's wrestlers were named to the Great Plains Athletic Conference Wrestling All-Conference Second Team. Brandon Aragon (SR/Pueblo, Colo.) (149 pounds), Carsen Paynter (SR/Livermore, Calif.) (157), and Josh Goeden (SO/Sitka, Alaska) (197) all were named to the 12-member second team. Paynter and Goeden each finished second at last week's GPAC Championship. Aragon finished third and earned one of the conference's three wild-card selections to the NAIA national meet.

AMGPKCAC Defender of the Week
The American Midwest/Great Plains/Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference announces the following men's volleyball players of the week for games played January 27-February 2, 2020. AMGPKCAC Men's Volleyball Players of the Week Attacker of the Week: Luka Cajic, Missouri Baptist (Outside) Cajic, a senior from Subotica, Serbia, had 51 kills and a .327 hitting percentage in leading the No. 4 Spartans to wins over St. Ambrose (Iowa), #9 Aquinas (Mich.), and Briar Cliff (Iowa). He was also selected to the Grand View University All-Tournament Team. Defender of the Week: Caylor Cox, Jamestown (N.D.) (Outside) Cox, a freshman from Helena, Mont., recorded a pair of double-doubles in helping Jamestown win its first two matches in program history on Saturday. He had 10 digs and 10 kills against Dordt (Iowa), and 11 digs and 10 kills against Viterbo (Wis.) Setter of the Week: Jason Harman, Missouri Baptist Harman, a senior from St. Louis, Mo., had 144 assists in three matches as the Spartans went 3-0. Harman had 38 assists in a 3-0 win over St. Ambrose (Iowa), then added 59 more in a five-set win over Aquinas (Mich.) He finished with 47 assists in a 3-1 win over Briar Cliff (Iowa). Jamestown will head to Iowa next weekend to take on top-ranked Grand View, Indiana Tech and William Penn.

AMGPKCAC Setter of the Week
The American Midwest/Great Plains/Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference announces the following men's volleyball players of the week for games played February 3-9, 2020. Players were nominated and chosen by a vote of conference Sports Information Directors. AMGPKCAC Men's Volleyball Players of the Week Attacker of the Week: Hiago Crins, Park (Mo.) (Opposite) Crins, a senior from Paranapanema Brazil, had 39 total kills, 23 digs, and 18 blocks. He averaged 3.33 kills per set and hit .425 in three matches. Defender of the Week: Hiago Crins, Park (Mo.) (Opposite) Crins, a senior from Paranapanema Brazil, had seven blocks against Mount Mercy (Iowa), six against Missouri Valley, and five against Park (Ariz.). He nearly recorded a triple double against Mount Mercy with 13 kills, nine digs, and seven block assists. Crins currently leads the NAIA in blocks per set at 1.83. Setter of the Week: Derek Correa, Jamestown (N.D.) Correa, a freshman from Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, had 159 assists in four matches as Jamestown went 3-1 last week. Correa had 46 assists against Viterbo (Wis.), 42 against Indiana Tech, 40 in a loss to #2 Grand View (Iowa), and 31 against William Penn (Iowa). He currently leads the NAIA in assists per game with 11.86.

AMGPKCAC Attacker of the Week
JAMESTOWN, N.D.-The American Midwest/Great Plains/Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference announces the following men's volleyball players of the week. The student-athletes were selected for their performances for games played February 24-March 1, 2020 by a vote of conference sports information directors. AMGPKCAC Men's Volleyball Players of the Week Attacker of the Week: Clark Steele (JR/Lake Forest, Calif.), Jamestown (N.D.) (Opposite) Steele, a junior from Lake Forest, Calif., had an impressive weekend in helping Jamestown (N.D.) split a pair of matches. In a 3-1 loss at No. 3 Park (Mo.), Steele smashed home a career-high 27 kills and hit .478 while being credited with seven block assists. Against Ottawa (Kan.), Steele sent 14 balls to the floor, hitting .480 with just two errors. Defender of the Week: Noah Marasco-Ayau, Briar Cliff (Iowa) (Libero) Marasco-Ayau, a senior from Honolulu, Hawaii, led Briar Cliff defensively in all three matches last week, including tallying 22 digs in BC's five-set win over Graceland (Iowa). He also contributed six assists and two ace serves on the week. Setter of the Week: Luciano Bucci, Park (Mo.) Bucci, a junior from San Salvo, Italy, helped lead the No.3 Pirates to a 2-0 record last week as he dished out 106 assists in just eight sets for an average of 13.25 assists per set. Bucci also had nine digs and seven total blocks.

The student-athletes were selected for their performances for games played March 2-March 8, 2020 by a vote of conference sports information directors. AMGPKCAC Men's Volleyball Players of the Week Attacker of the Week: Clark Steele, Jamestown (N.D.) (Opposite) Steele, a junior from Lake Forest, Calif., had 35 kills and hit .403 in three matches as the Jimmies went 3-0. He had 17 kills and six digs in UJ's sweep of (RV) Briar Cliff (Iowa). Steele also had 13 kills and hit .440 in Jamestown's win over Morningside (Iowa). Defender of the Week: Derek Owens, Jamestown (N.D.) (Middle Blocker) Owens, a freshman from Andover, Minn., had nine total blocks, including four solo, in helping Jamestown to a 3-0 record. He also hit .542 with 14 kills on the offensive side. Setter of the Week: Derek Correa, Jamestown (N.D.) Correa, a freshman from Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, had at least 34 assists in all three matches as UJ swept all three of its matches. He had 34 assists and four digs against (RV) Briar Cliff (Iowa). Correa currently leads the NAIA in assists per set (11.43) and has helped the Jimmies to the top ranking in assists (13.13) and kills (14.1) per set.

NAIA Setter of the Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Landon Fuller of Benedictine Mesa (Ariz.) was named as the NAIA men's volleyball attacker of the week, Bobby Henige of Benedictine Mesa was named as the NAIA men's volleyball defender of the week and Derek Correa of Jamestown (N.D.) was named as the NAIA men's volleyball setter of the week announced the national office on Tuesday. Attacker of the Week Landon Fuller, Benedictine Mesa 6-5, FR, OH, Tempe, Ariz. Fuller notched his lone double-double of the week against No. 8 Vanguard (Calif.) with 12 kills and 10 digs. GPAC Honorable Mention All-Conference
SIOUX CITY, Iowa-- The University of Jamestown men's soccer team had three players earn Great Plains Athletic Conference honorable mention all-conference honors, the conference office announced Monday. Goalkeeper Jake Askew (SR/Rotherham, England), midfielder Karl Gatiramu (FR/Nairobi, Kenya), and forward Aaron Pike (SO/Milton Keynes, England) were recoginzed for their play this season. Askew appeared in 14 matches, starting 13. He recorded 57 saves and two shutouts with a save percentage of .606. Gatiramu had four goals and two assists in 16 matches, with 15 starts. Pike started all 19 matches for the Jimmies, scoring a team-high 11 goals to go along with three assists. Two of Pike's goals were game-winners. Jamestown finished 8-9-2 this season, advancing to the semifinals of the GPAC postseason tournament.

GPAC Honorable Mention All-Conference
Wide receiver Garrett Mitchell (SO/Shakopee, Minn.) and linebacker/defensive back Aundre Purnell (SR/Garden Grove, Calif.) were named honorable mention All-Conference. Mitchell led Jimmie receivers with 48 catches, 677 yards, and six touchdowns. He ranked among the top 10 in the GPAC in catches, yards, touchdowns, yards per game, and catches per game. Purnell was the leading tackler on the Jimmie defense in 2019. He made 63 total tackles (32 solo) with 4 1/2 tackles for loss and a quarterback sack. Purnell set a career high with 14 tackles in UJ's 13-10 win against Concordia (Neb.)

GPAC Second Team All-Conference
SIOUX CITY, Iowa-- Punter Izaak Myles (SO/Apple Valley, Calif.) and defensive lineman Vincent Corral (SO/Gilbert, Ariz.) were named to the Great Plains Athletic Conference second team as the conference office announced its All-Conference teams Tuesday. Myles set a new Jimmie single season record with his 41.0 yards per punt average. He ranked second in the GPAC in punting average and led the conference in punting yards with 2747. Myles' longest punt of the season traveled 61 yards and he finished with 10 punts of 50 yards or more. Twelve of his punts landed inside the opponents' 20-yard line. Corral played nose guard in Jamestown's 3-4 defensive scheme and recorded 16 tackles, including a quarterback sack. His best game of the season came in UJ's 13-10 four-overtime victory against Concordia (Neb.) as he made six total tackles, four of them solo.

GPAC Player of the Week
Isaiah Dobson (SR/Stillwater, MN) of the University of Jamestown men's basketball team has been named Great Plains Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday. Dobson averaged 35 points last week as the Jimmies split a pair of games. Against Dickinson State, he set a career high with 42 points in a 101-89 victory. Dobson's 42 points were second-most in school history, and his 16-for-16 performance at the free throw line tied a school mark. Dobson had 28 points and five rebounds in the Jimmies' 76-68 loss to No. 1 Morningside (Iowa). For the week, Dobson shot 63.3% (19-of-30) overall and 61.1 % (11-for-18) from three-point range, and was 21-for-21 from the foul line. The Jimmies are back in action with a 7 p.m. home game against Dakota State (N.D.) on December 28.

GPAC Freshman of the Year
Mason Walters (FR/Jamestown, ND) and Brady Birch (JR/Melrose, MN) were named honorable mention. Walters led the Jimmies in rebounding with 8.7 per game while averaging 14.2 points per game. Birch averaged 11 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, pulling down a team-best 218 boards, and shot 61.4 percent from the field. In addition, Walters was selected as the GPAC's Freshman of the Year. Despite missing eight games due to injury, Walters ranked fourth on the Jimmies in scoring average, third in field goal percentage, and second in total rebounds.

2019-20 GPAC Honorable Mention
SIOUX CITY, Iowa-- Four University of Jamestown men's basketball players earned GPAC All-Conference honors as the first, second, and honorable mentions were announced by the league office Wednesday. Jack Talley (JR/Sioux Falls, SD) was named to the first team. Talley led the Jimmies in scoring during the 2019-20 season, averaging 16.7 points per game. His 7.2 rebounds per contest was second on the Jimmies. Terrell Alfred (SR/Orlando, FL) was a second team selection. Alfred made a team-high 101 three-pointers and averaged 15.7 points per game. His 472 points led Jamestown. Mason Walters (FR/Jamestown, ND) and Brady Birch (JR/Melrose, MN) were named honorable mention. Walters led the Jimmies in rebounding with 8.7 per game while averaging 14.2 points per game. SIOUX CITY, Iowa-- Four University of Jamestown men's basketball players earned GPAC All-Conference honors as the first, second, and honorable mentions were announced by the league office Wednesday. Jack Talley (JR/Sioux Falls, SD) was named to the first team. Talley led the Jimmies in scoring during the 2019-20 season, averaging 16.7 points per game. His 7.2 rebounds per contest was second on the Jimmies. Terrell Alfred (SR/Orlando, FL) was a second team selection. Alfred made a team-high 101 three-pointers and averaged 15.7 points per game. His 472 points led Jamestown. Mason Walters (FR/Jamestown, ND) and Brady Birch (JR/Melrose, MN) were named honorable mention. Walters led the Jimmies in rebounding with 8.7 per game while averaging 14.2 points per game.
